Yesterday, I went to these caves near Pokhara and went spelunking. I hired this Nepali to be my guide and he was really good. One of the caves we went to was literally full of bats! The ceiling was covered. I just stared at them for ages, it was so cool. To get to the 3rd cave, we walked for about an hour through rice fields, over a giant hill, and across a small river. It was filled with crystal deposits. I think maybe it was quartz or something. I asked the guide what kind of crystal it was, and he looked at me like I was stupid and said "It's white crystal." I decided not to press the issue. Also in this cave, as I was crawling through this passage, a bat flew right in front of my face. I screamed a little from the surprise. It was SOOOOOO cool! I love caves! For some reason, I feel much safer scrambling over rocks in a cave than scrambling over the same type of rocks on land. I think it's because there's not usually very far to fall and the ceiling is so close to you. It's highly unlikely that you'll get anything more than a few scratches.
I took the bus back to Kathmandu today. Coincidentally, this woman Susan, who I know from Thamel was on the same bus. We sat next to each other. MUCH nicer than sitting next to a stranger. When we got to Thamel, I promptly took a nap. Suddenly, someone knocked on my door. This was odd since I'd just checked in and none of my friends knew I was back. Turns out, my friend Catie and her friend Jon, got here from India a day early. They were supposed to be in tomorrow morning. However, as I'd thought the road is still, in fact, impassible, so they took a plane. Now they're here! We talked for a while (it sounds like they had some adventures on the way) and then we got food.
So... that's all I've got for you for now! I'm sure it's nice to finally have some entries that aren't 15 paragraphs long!

You have packed so many adventures into such a short period of time. I am so impressed. I love reading about them, when I'm not feeling terrified by the description that is...
