My Last Week in Nepal

Hey! So I decided at the last minute not to go to Lumbini. I was hanging out with all my friends (it was my last Friday night), and the idea of packing up all my stuff and getting up at 6am to take a 10 hour bus ride seemed incredibly unappealing. I've made so many amazing friends here, I just couldn't imagine spending my last week all alone. Plus, riding 10.5 hours (at least), spending 2 days there and then riding 10.5 hours back is just silly. Especially when it's right before I get on a plane and fly to another continent. There's no way I could imagine NOT coming back to Nepal, so when I do return, I'll go to Lumbini properly, and see all the stuff in that area. There's a loop you can make that takes you through Chitwan, Lumbini, Tansen, Pokhara, and Manakanama, which sounds pretty ideal. But it takes a lot longer than 4 days. Also, with the high percentange of bus strikes and break downs, I would have been stressed about missing my flight.

The last few days, I've just been hanging around Kathmandu, seeing the few sights I haven't seen yet, visiting my favorite haunts, and spending time with all the friends I've made. Tomorrow, I'm going to do a day trip to Daman, but other than that, I'm just hanging out. I'm really excited to get to Egypt. I can't believe I'll be there on Friday!!! Yay!!!

I'm definitely going to Kibbutz Revivim for the Ulpan program. Way exciting! I got my acceptance letter a few days ago. I also applied to do 2 weeks of volunteer work before I go to the Kibbutz. I'm not sure if I'll do it yet, but I'm going to look into it. It would mean living in Tzfat, which was my favorite place in Israel when I did Birthright. That would be pretty sweet.

I don't know if I'll have anything more to say before I leave Nepal, seeing as I haven't been up to much blogworthy stuff lately... Peace out, homes.

A good decision, Jen -- much less stressful than the Lumbini plan. Enjoy your last days in Nepal!
