Uploading Photos is a Gigantic PAIN

I'm trying so hard to upload my photos right now, but it's taking FOREVER! Unfortunately, the internet cafe I"m in (the most upscale one in Kathmandu) doesn't have the required stuff to let me upload my photos in bulk. So I'm stuck clicking on each one, one at a time... :( Oh well. I may take the time to do it all now, or I may just get them developed and put the good ones online when I get home. We'll see. At least 50 new ones are uploading to my photobucket page right now. That url is http://s376.photobucket.com/albums/oo204/veganoboist/ in case you missed it the last time.

This week's been good, although I missed two days of work with a really bad cough. I'm feeling better now though. A new volunteer came to MSPN today. Her name is Maya and she's from Holland. She seems really nice. She's got a degree in child studies and has spent her summer working with children in Vietnam and Cambodia. Despite all of that, the MSPN kids were absolutely insane today and neither of us could calm them down. Not even cartoons worked!

This weekend, I'm going white water rafting!! I'm excited. 2 days of rafting, a night of camping, and all meals and everything for $55. Not such a bad deal. We're going on the Trisuli River which is supposed to be especially good because it's the tail end of the monsoon season. I think that's about it for me for today.

Oh! An interesting observation: random celebrities are popular here, based on the number of t-shirts and posters I've seen. Since I've been counting, Avril Lavigne is in the lead with 6, Britney's a distant second with 2 t-shirts, and Michael Jackson, Led Zepplin, and Shakira are tied for third with one each. Seeing as it's a country where t-shirts at all are an anomaly, I think this is somewhat funny. I'll keep you posted.

I just looked at your photos. Why are many of them turned sideways? I couldn't figure out how to rotate them. Can you rotate them when you upload them? I'd love to browse them, but I don't want to lie on my side while I do it.

Enjoy that rafting trip!

The photos give a good sense of what you are seeing. Very exotic! We had dinner at the Nepali restaurant last night, and the owner sends his best.
