In case you think the title of this was a joke, let me tell you, it's not. I neglected to mention in my last post that the most "foreign" thing I saw on my way from the airport to the hotel was the wild monkeys that are all over. Apparently, they are aggressive and if you have food, they will snatch it out of your hands. They look like monkeys from the zoos. Hopefully, I'll post a pic of them at some point.
Unfortunately, I'm not really adjusted to the time here yet. I woke up in the middle of the night (3am) and couldn't get back to sleep. I plan to stay up all day (NO NAPS!) and hopefully sleep through the night tonight. But anyway, being up for a lot of the night left me some thinking time. All of a sudden, I felt this wash of joy pour over me and I started crying (happy tears). I just feel like I'm in the right place now and everything is going to work out. I'm so excited for what my future has in store.
Beyond that, the streets of Thamel (pronounced Teh-MEL) are calling me, and I feel silly wasting time in front of a computer. I'm going to go see some temples and do some shopping.
Bye for now!
Oh, and Adam, the book was "The Terra Cotta Dog." It's an Italian mystery novel that I bought (translated into English) in a used book shop near Columbia.
Bug bites: 2 :(
Books finished: still one, but I'm halfway through another thanks to my all-nite read-a-thon

Careful with the monkeys. I have a friend who got his pants and bra stolen by a troop of spider monkeys in Costa Rica.
